Es gibt einen sehr interessanten Tipp, wie man das Laden bzw. den Ladevorgang von iPhoto ‘09 insbesondere bei einer hohen Anzahl von Bildern bschleunigen kann. Viele MAC User mussten leider eine Zunahme der Ladezeit nach dem Upgrade/Update auf iLife '09 feststellen.
Dieses "bereinigen" der iPhoto Datenbank erfolgt ledigleich durch einen Terminal Befehl. Im Laufe der Zeit wird eine iPhoto Datenbank sehr fragmentiert. Der "vacuum command" bzw. Säuberungs-Befehl über die Terminal Konsole säubert die Datenbank und entfernt alle unnötigen Bilder mittels einer Reorganisation der Datenstruktur.

To vacuum your iPhoto library, start by making sure iPhoto isn't open, and then open up Terminal (located in Applications/Utilities). Firstly, you have to point the Terminal to where your iPhoto Library is using the cd (change directory) command. By default, this should be:
iPhoto sollte geschlossen sein. Danach muss man lediglich im Terminal in folgenden Ordner wechseln:
cd "~/Pictures/iPhoto Library"
Paste the above line into the Terminal, then hit return. If your iPhoto Library isn’t in your Pictures folder you will have to adjust the command to your specific needs. Next, to perform the vacuum, use the following command:
Danach folgenden Befehl im Ordner der iPhoto Library ausführen:
for dbase in *.db; do sqlite3 $dbase "vacuum;"; done
As before, just paste this line in then hit return and you're done.
